Creating a Village is a Madison-based nonprofit that brings multicultural youth, families, and community together through meaningful events, mentorship, and hands-on experiences. Founded by Andrea Shorter-Amos, the organization creates safe, joyful spaces where young people feel seen, supported, celebrated, and connected to a strong village of care.
Through programs like Boys to Men, Women to Ladies, back-to-school events, and family-centered celebrations, Creating a Village helps youth build confidence, strengthen relationships, and imagine positive futures for themselves and their community.
Mission
To uplift and support youth through safe spaces, meaningful mentorship, and community-centered experiences that help them build confidence, belonging, and a vision for their future.
Vision
We envision a community where every child feels seen, supported, and surrounded by a village that helps them grow into who they are meant to be.
